RE: Sports Chassis VS. other MDT

I need Help!! i have a 350 dually.. not crazy about towing my 15k rig. seriously considering a sports chassis or even f550 or f650. even a 4500.. although i dont think a 4500 with a duramx and allison would be a whole lot better then moving to a real MDT.. I NEED ALL OPINIONS AND GOOD AND BAD ON THE SPORTS CHASSIS TRUCKS. WHICH ENGINE IS BEST.. ETC.. THANK YOU!!!!! I don't think it's stupid. I’m considering the same thing. I have a Fuzion 362 toy-hauler. It can run up to 16K when loaded. My little F-350 gets lost under the nose of this monster. We’re looking at a Freightliner M2 but maybe not a SportChassis. A local horse trailer sales lot has an M2 with an S&S stainless hauler bed. S&S is the same company that makes fire trucks and tankers. I'm considering the Mercedes 330 or 410 hp but will also not rule out the Cummins ISC 8.3. If you can find a new 2007 you can get one that does not have the mileage robbing emission crap. Take a look at truckpaper.com

RE: Topsail changes...for the bad?

Will they allow the golf carts on the beach path? I hope they keep that restricted to the park tram, bicycles and sneakers.

RE: Misty River Campground Walland, Tn. is a must..

We stayed there last September for a long weekend. It was our maiden voyage in our new 5th wheel. I agree the bath house is nice, but that's about all I was impressed with. All the sites and roads were loose gravel and when it rained our site was mostly mud. Maybe they've made improvements since then.

RE: Wheel Chocks for street bikes

I have a Fuzion 362 and haul our Harley's in the garage. I have a Road Glide and a Heritage Springer, my wife has a Dyna Low Rider and Honda Rebel. We usually have two of the bikes with us when traveling. I opted for the Baxley LA Chocks. I use them in the RV and at the house for service and cleaning of the bikes. I don't have them mounted to the RV floor, but will likely do that this winter. I'll design some type of quick mount for the Baxleys to a base plate under the floor. Any brand of the roll-in chocks make loading the bikes in the RV so much easier. The bike stands upright while you get the straps on.

RE: Out of Pigeon Forge Please!

In the lead we have Townsend TN. followed closely by Maggie Valley and other NC sites. Bringing up the rear is a "near boondock" adventure in the GSMN park. :B All of these are great escapes from busy Pigeon Forge. They are close enough to be convenient but far away enough to relax. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are not for everybody. The areas around the Smoky Mountains have something for everyone (except for those seeking sandy beaches). Take the information in this forum, find your perfect spot and set up camp. Stay as long as you want, spend lots of money (we need the tax income) and enjoy your time RVing.

RE: Owning and operating a campground

I recently talked to the owner of a small lakeside CG in Kentucky. He and his wife love RV'ing and thought that owning a CG would be fun, awesome and all those other good things. At first they did love it. Then they realized they had not used their RV in 3 years and worked 7 days a week from sun up to late at night. There is always something that has to be done at a CG and the visiting RV'ers must be kept happy and safe. You have to attend to the needs of the facility and the visitors with speed, diligence and a smile. It's a really hard and demanding job.

RE: Topsail Internet Access Question

What-A-Burger across from Silver Sands has free wi-fi, no passcode, no annoying popups.

RE: Topsail Hill SP

Just got back from Topsail a couple of days ago. Spent all last week there. Didn't see a snake or gator anywhere. Not a lot of bugs either. I guess the wind blew them all to Alabama. We did see some healthy rats eating the dog food that people leave out. The only thing that bothered me was the construction noise. Being a state project they don't work very long though. They usually start about 8 am and stop about noon. They are adding more cabins and a tent camping area. No new RV sites. All things considered it's still a good place to stay. The park rangers and the volunteers are all friendly and helpful. What site where you on? We were on site 64.

RE: Keystone Fuzion 362 Tires Issue

I have an '08 Fuzion 362 with the same 15 inch Mission tires. To date I have about 3000 miles with no problems. I run up to 80 mph on the open road and have had it on some really rough roads also. I check the condition and pressure before each leg of a trip. I look for cuts and other signs of damage and deterioration. I run with 60 psi and check lug torque before hitting the road. With all the bad reports on the Mission tires, I guess I pay a more attention to them. The first sign of trouble, I'm switching brands.

RE: best campground in/around pigeon forge TN???

We've stayed at River Plantation several times and really like it. There are a lot of really good CG's in Pigeon Forge. A shorter list may be to ask "which CG's to avoid".

RE: 2008 FUZION 362 HEADS UP

I have an early '08 (15 inch wheels) 362. I've had nothing worth taking it back to the dealer for. I've made a couple of minor adjustments but nothing close to what "RapidConcepts" claims. My biggest issue was a leaky outside speaker. I just took it out and put a new bead of silicon on the flange and it's fine now. "RapidConcepts", can you share your list of the 45 items that need repair? Maybe I have some problems that I haven't noticed yet.

RE: Topsail-May 18-25th

We arrive on the 17th for a week. Site # seventy-something ( I just drive, the wife tells me where to go :B). We were there at Christmas and loved it. Topsail Hill is on my shortlist of good spots. We need to compile a list of good restaurants. Any suggestions will be appreciated. We liked McGuires Irish Pub and will go there again.

RE: Gatlinburg, TN

Unless you just have to have hook-ups and all the ammenities; don't miss Cades Cove area and the campground inside the National Park. Its about 25 miles from Gatlinburg into the interior of Great Smokey Mt NP but you can really experience the Park and its natural beauty instead of just being stuck in the tourist trap town area(my biased opinion). Or, closer to Gatlinburg(if you really must waste time there)is also Elkmont Campground inside the Park. Over 10,000,000 visitors per year 'waste time' in Gatlinburg. Guess they're all crazy. But I love every one of them when my property tax bill comes in each year! Every chance I get, I "waste time" in Gatlinburg. It one of the best waste-of-time places I know. :)

RE: 2008 FUZION 362 HEADS UP

I've had my Fuzion 362 since September '07 and still find saw dust. I'd like to go to the factory to see why they have to cut so much after primary assembly. Has anyone pulled the television from the wall mount? More saw dust back there.

RE: Who uses a Toy Hauler...w/o any toys?

I have a Fuzion 362. We carry our Harley's in the back about 50% of the time. When we're toyless, we use the garage as a screened-in room. Drop the rear gate, zip in the screen, open the windows and side door, BAM, second living area. At night, close it all up, drop the two beds down from the ceiling, BAM, another bedroom. If I never carried toys, I'd still have a toy-hauler for my RV.

RE: 2010 Titan with a Cummins under the hood? Yep

Dodge, Nissan, Ram, Titan, HEMI, Cummins. what, a Cummins or HEMI powered Dodge Titan?!!!?. so will we be driving an import or a domestic?:?:h OHHHH! I`m getting a headache! I agree, to much information (rumors) to comprehend. I work for Nissan, on the HD project, and I haven't heard nearly as much information as what's posted here. There are agreements in place and more being negotiated. Stay tuned to Nissan and Chrysler for official news and product releases. Anything else is just fun gossip. :W

RE: Ford F series front end shaking

I have an '02 F-350 2WD. At 78,000 miles I had to replace every joint and bushing in the front end. Cost about $700 with a front alignment. Drives like new. Now my rear diff is making noises. It's always something. Maybe time for a MDT...
